At the heart of the community for more than five decades, it is now a beacon of light after dark thanks to a custom-designed power system provided by Solar Technology International.

On the roof of the phone box there is a 10w solar panel connected a charge controller, battery and timer all protected by a waterproof enclosure. The illumination is delivered by a 0.8W vintage-style bulb.
