Can I charge my phone from the USB ports?
Yes. It has 1x USB-A and 1x USB-C output and can provide up to 2.4A (at 5V) from each port when the solar panel is in direct sunlight.

Does it have a battery bank inside so I can charge my phone at night?
No, there is no battery inside. This is a portable solar panel, so it needs sunshine to provide you with power.

Can I charge a USB battery bank from this?
Yes. How long it will take to charge will depend on the capacity of your battery bank, but up to 2.4A is available from either of the ports when the solar panel is in direct sunlight.

Can it be used in my vehicle to charge my iPad?
If it is on the dash directly behind the windscreen, it will produce power, but it will work better outside than behind glass.

Will it still work in the shade?
Yes, it will still work if the panel is completely in the shade, but it won’t be as powerful. Solar panels work best in direct sunlight, so keep the panel in the sun whenever you can.

Can I use both USB ports at the same time?
Yes, you can.

What are the numbers on the display for and what do they mean?
The display shows the amount of power drawn in Amps from the USB ports.

Can I take it camping with me?
Of course! The whole idea of a fold-up panel is to take it with you so you have power where you are.

Is it waterproof?
It is IPX4 rated, so it can cope with light rain, but we recommend allowing it to dry fully before folding it up and putting it away.

Can I hang it on my backpack while I’m out walking?
Absolutely! Plug your mobile into the USB port and secure it inside the zipped pouch. Then, use the carabineer mountings to attach the solar panel to your backpack. If you can, use all four mounting points so the panel doesn’t move around as you walk.

Does it come with a stand?
Yes. It can be used free-standing as there are two legs on the rear of the panel to allow it to be angled directly towards the sun. Velcro holds them in place so they can easily be deployed as and when required.

Do I have to unfold it completely to use it?
While it will produce some power if it is only partially unfolded, it should be used fully open to get the best use out of the panel.

Will I damage the panel if I sit on it?
The panel is reasonably robust and designed to cope with everyday usage, but it is not intended to withstand the weight being applied to it. Standing or sitting on the panel will cause damage not covered by the warranty, so we recommend folding the panel and putting it away when not in use.
